In this week’s episode of “On the Road with Noble Outfitters,” we visited Charlotte’s Saddlery in Houston, Texas.
“On the Road with Noble Outfitters” host and Noble Outfitters CEO Dan Costa welcomed us into the family-owned store in a middle of a busy mall. But would you believe when they started the store was in the middle of the country? The city slowly moved out and surrounded the formerly empty lot.
Dan introduced us to co-owners of Charlotte’s Saddlery, Tim and Mark Raisbeck. The store is actually named after their mom, an avid equestrian who established the store back in 1977. Now the whole family, including Mark’s wife Missy and daughter Lauren Heinrich, work at the store. Backbones of this country are small business owners and the Raisbeck family definitely fits the mold.
After talking to the family, Dan was ready to look at their store. Charlotte’s Saddlery features a mix of English and Western tack and they even carry polo stuff! The store is well-known in the community and they support many local events, charities and specifically therapeutic riding organizations.
Noble Child of Tomorrow was Madison Waller, a busy 12-year old equestrian. She started riding a horse when she was only 2 years old! Now she’s doing equitation, hunters, jumpers, western pleasure – and she still loves to learn new things. For all of her hard work and dedication, Madison got a $100 bill from Dan to start her bank account and save for her future.
Recipe of the Week was presented by Dennis Henderson from Ciscos Salsa Co. After Dennis and his wife moved from California to Texas, they missed the food they were so used to. Dan and Dennis talked about their respective careers in the culinary business, and Dan appreciated Dennis’ fish tacos. Your family is going to love it, so click HERE to get the full recipe.
